The Hare Krishna Prasthanam, Thrissur trust was formed by devotees to serve humanity by sharing with them the timeless wisdom of the Vedas, which would enable them to live a fully satisfying life in the midst of rampant materialism. Through various activities such as youth development programs, mantra meditation sessions, Sunday love feasts, building temples and more, the trust wishes to be a beacon of true hope for the people of Thrissur and the surrounding areas.

With Sri Satyavrta Maharaja Dasa (Legal: K Sathianath) as the Chairperson of the Hare Krishna Prasthanam, Thrissur trust, the following people are the First Trustees –

Under the guidance of the Hon. Chairperson and the Hon. Trustees, the trust has a vision to achieve the following objectives based on the instructions, guidance and teachings of our revered Spiritual Master HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada –

(i) To advance, transmit and spread the ethical and philosophical principles of Krishna Consciousness as revealed in the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam and the doctrines and the observances which serve to promote and manifest the said ethical and philosophical principles and in furtherance of this object:

(a) To educate the public generally for awareness of Krishna and to develop the proposition that each soul is part and parcel of the quality of Godhead (Krishna).
(b) To teach and encourage the Sankirtana movement, congregational chanting of the holy name of God as revealed in the teachings of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
(c) To erect for society at large, a holy place, including temples, theme parks, art galleries etc. of transcendental pastimes, dedicated to the personality of Krishna or his incarnations.
(d) To teach a simpler and more natural way of life and systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to Society at large and to educate all the people in the techniques of spiritual life in order to arrest the imbalances of the values of life and achieve real unity and peace in the world.
(e) To spread, transmit and propagate the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam and doctrines that manifest the ethical and philosophical principles of Krishna Consciousness by television, tele-recording, sound broadcasting,cinematography, live action films, animation films, Imax, internet, web, and by any other system of sound and picture production and exhibition whatsoever or by public meetings, lectures, services, sermons, addresses, relics, missions, revivals or peaceful crusades.
(f) With a view towards achieving the aforementioned purposes, to print, publish and
distribute periodicals, magazines, books and other writings.

(ii) To engage in providing education for promotion of moral, social, cultural, economic values of society / public at large and in furtherance of this object:
(a) To establish centers for learning, training, performance and exhibition of Indian forms of music, dance, theatre, art, sculptor, etc. (including contemporary and current adaptations) with the objective of enriching the cultural and ethical values and inspire rightful conduct among the general public and to build auditorium, theatres, multimedia theatre, lecture halls, convention halls and other appropriate infrastructure to support this cause.
(b) To establish, maintain, run, develop, improve, extend, grant and donate to educational institutions, including schools for the promotion and practice of fine arts and to aid in every possible manner such schools, colleges, polytechnics and other educational institutions including institutions for the study of various schools of philosophy, vocational training centers, research centers and hostels for students pursuing their studies.
(c) To institute studentship, scholarship, stipends, medals, prizes etc., to help and encourage deserving students and to provide monetary aid to students, scholars and teachers for the purpose of and towards the imparting of education.
(d) To establish, maintain, develop and donate for the establishment, maintenance and development of book banks, libraries, museums and hostels.
(e) To organize, conduct and assist in the organizing and conducting lectures, seminars and symposia.

(iii) To promote and propagate yoga as described in Bhagavad Gita as it is and in furtherance of this object:
(a) To establish centers for learning, training and practicing any of the ancient forms of Yoga as described in Bhagavad Gita as it is and to build auditoriums, theatres, multimedia theatre, lecture halls, convention halls and other appropriate infrastructure to support this cause.
(b) To organize, conduct and assist in the organizing and conducting lectures,seminars and symposia.
(c) To establish, maintain, run, develop, improve, extend, grant and donate to educational institutions, including schools and universities for the promotion and practice of Yoga as described in Bhagavad Gita and to aid in every possible manner such schools, colleges, polytechnics and other educational institutions including institutions for the study of Yoga. Wherever necessary students can be encouraged to take up this study by providing scholarships etc.

(iv) To engage in providing medical relief for general health of the members of society
/ public at large and in furtherance of this object:
(a)To establish, maintain, run, develop, improve, extend, grant, donate to and aid in the establishment, maintenance, running, development, improvement and extension of hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, medical laboratories, including Indian system of medicine like Ayurveda, siddha, Naturopathy, Yoga practices and similar institutions affording treatment, care, rest, recuperation and other medical relief to the public.

(v) To engage in providing relief to the poor and in furtherance of this object:
(a) To construct community halls, rest houses etc., to feed and to give food, clothing and cash grants to the poor and to grant donations for the support of the inmates of orphanages, rescue and rehabilitation centers and similar institutions.
(b) To inculcate among the poor, needy and educated youth the advantages of self help and self employment and in this direction to provide succour and sustenance to them by way of training and employment opportunities by establishing and supporting cottage Industries.

(vi) To engage in other objects of general public utility necessary and incidental for the purpose of attainment of the above mentioned objects and in furtherance of this object:
(a) To establish, run and aid old age homes, community centers, public halls, cultural centers, including auditoria.
(b) To establish, run and maintain goshalas in order to create awareness among the general public about Methods of manufacturing organic manures, organic pesticides, cooking gas, power plants from cow dung and cow urine (Panchagavyam) and other benefits, including economic, from cow protection.
(c) To popularize the vegetable-grain diet under the approved methods in order that full value of protein, carbohydrate, fat and vitamin benefit may be derived therefrom and educating people from bad effects of Non Vegetarian foods and diseases caused due to consumption of such food, by way of setting up food labs, research centers, restaurants, food courts, etc.
(d) To provide shelters and homes to the general public, to set up theme parks related to Indian heritage & history and related amenities to benefit the general public.
(e) To undertake civic enterprises which do not come in conflict with the ideals and missions of the Trust with all the principles in view which may be in the form of improving the sanitation in holy places of pilgrimage by providing drinking water, drainage or in the form of developing new spiritual townships designed to provide facilities for culturing the spiritual consciousness of the public in general.
(f) To deal in spiritual paraphernalia like incense, pictures, bhajan CDs, children’s books on historical and ancient heroes of India, etc.
(g) To enter into any venture on its own or as a joint venture in the form or mode with any person, firm, company, society or trust or anyone to promote any of the objects or purely as incidental or supportive to the objects.
(h) To acquire properties and construct buildings in furtherance of the objects of the Trust.
(i) To carry out such acts which aids in upliftment of downtrodden socially and economically, cure the society from superstitions and social evils and also to collaborate, assist and join with similar institutions for fulfilling the objects of the Trust.

(vii) To enter into any arrangement with any Government or authority supreme, public, municipal, local or otherwise, and to obtain from any such Government or authority any rights, concessions and privileges that may be conducive to the Trust’s objects or any of them to carry out, exercise and comply with any such arrangements, rights, concessions and privileges.

(viii) To engage in any business activity in so far as it is necessary and incidental and supportive to the attainment of above objects of the Trust and in such event, separate books of account shall be maintained.

The Board of Trustees headed by the Chairperson will be responsible and remain committed to the objectives of the Hare Krishna Prasthanam, Thrissur trust.
